Gist: Set in 1930s, an orphan who lives in the walls of a train station in Paris is wrapped up in a mystery involving his late father, an automaton and a missing heart shaped key.

The Positive: The director of "Mean Streets," "Raging Bull," "Goodfellas" and "The Departed" went out of his element by making a family film so innocent and elegant it will take your breath away. A magical masterpiece, "Hugo" is undoubtedly Scorsese's biggest contribution to cinema for its deeper meaning.

The Negative: May appear as an Oscar-bait movie to some because of its "film preservation" theme.
