Movie Info: Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a modern classic that captures the dizzying highs and crushing lows of growing up. The Positive: Stephen Chbosky, the author of the best-selling novel, is also the one who wrote the script and directed the film adaptation. This is the reason why the film is more striking and captivating than the novel because Chbosky knew what was important to keep and what was unnecessary. Logan Lerman is brilliant on his portrayal of Charlie, the hurting 15-year-old who doesn’t have much of a social circle in school until he meets the step-siblings Patrick (Ezra Miller) and Sam (Emma Watson) who don't quite belong, either. Miller is quite a revelation while Watson shows that she can stand on her own after "Harry Potter." These three are the strength of the movie. Dark, passionately written, honest, and engaging, "Perks" is one of the year's best films so far and probably one of the best coming-of-age movies of all time.

The Negative: It should have been awesome if the main characters are well defined in the first 20 minutes of the film.

Memorable Line: “We accept the love we think we deserve."
