The Positive: "Oblivion" succeeds in laying out a futuristic setting with sleek special effects, impressive sound editing and serviceable action sequences. It's a Tom Cruise movie from beginning to end. Who doesn't like Tom Cruise, right?

The Negative: The film lacks originality in concept and production design. It's like WALL-E, Tron: Legacy, The Matrix and Total Recall all rolled into one. And just like Inception, it has a mysterious ending. But what's the point in finding out when the fuzzy narrative loses its connection with the audience along the way.

Memorable Line: "I want mankind to survive. This is the only way."
