Movie Info: An uptight and tyrannical brand manager Evelyn (portrayed by Marian Rivera) falls in love with her easy-go-lucky employee Zach (Richard Gutierrez) after getting dumped by boyfriend of 6 years Timothy (Tom Rodriguez). While relationship between boss and subordinate is strictly prohibited in the company, Zach and Evelyn try to hide the romance that develops between them in and outside the office. Things get even more complicated when Evelyn's competitor (Rocco Nacino) finds out about the unusual pair.

The Positive: The chemistry between Marian Rivera and Richard Gutierrez is undeniable. In fact, it has been tried and tested before: Their first movie team-up "My Bestfriend's Girlfriend" was a certified box-office hit by surpassing the P100 million mark. In the said film, Marian's character is free-spirited while Richard's role is a little uptight. The contrast created magic and spelled box-office success. In "My Lady Boss," they somewhat exchanged character traits. Richard is now the easy-go-lucky type while Marian is the uptight one. The contrast between the two characters--a boss and her subordinate--provides more challenge between the two stars, not to mention the abundance of kissing/love scenes that the director required from them. And I must say, they nailed it. They're comfortable with each other and their attempt to convince us that their characters can and will fall in love is successful. Marian is in her rom-com element and she remains fun to watch. Her goofy charm and good comic delivery shine throughout the film. Her dramatic moment is also good. Rocco Nacino as the antagonist is highly commendable. You can throw any kind of roles at him and he will kill it. While other supporting stars like Tom Rodriguez, Ronaldo Valdez, Ruru Madrid, Dion Ignacio, Benjie Paras and Betong have their moment in the film. Technical aspects of the film like the production design and the special effects used in the sky diving scene are exceptional.

The Negative: The premise may be similar to the Sandra Bullock-Ryan Reynolds movie "The Proposal" but "My Lady Boss" swayed to a rather home-grown romantic-comedy formula that will entertain every Pinoy movie-goer. Richard Gutierrez could have been more free-spirited. Office workers played by Patricia Halimuyak, Seff Cadayona, Jace Flores and Matet De Leon lack chemistry as an ensemble.

Memorable Lines: "You will be working for Ms. Evelyn Vallejo Lontoc, as in letter "I" na lang...EVIL." "Si EVL, what you see is what you get. Yung boss namin is the DEVIL in disguise!" "Never, ever, turn your back on people who can make you happy."

Tag Line: "Sometimes love can be your greatest success."
