My Kontrabida Girl

"My Kontrabida Girl" is a well-made romantic-comedy from the scriptwriter of "My Amnesia Girl" and director of "Zombadings: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington."

MY KONTRABIDA GIRL

Main Cast: Aljur Abrenica, Rhian Ramos
Supporting Cast: Jake Vargas, Bea Binene, Chariz Solomon, Kevin Santos, Enzo Pineda, Sef Cadayona, Ken Chan, Bela Padilla, Gwen Zamora, Ms Bella Flores
Director: Jade Castro
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Released By: GMA Films
MTRCB Rating: PG-13
Opening Date: March 14, 2012

Gist: A young actress known for being the fiercest kontrabida in various soap operas became soft after a near death experience. Hoping to regain the villain inside her, she finds the guy who broke her heart and makes his life miserable.

The Positive: Fresh from the success of his horror-comedy "Zombadings," Jade Castro proves yet again that he has a talent in finding the funny bone of the viewers, putting the comedy in "rom-com." And when it comes to romance, Castro has a skill in creating these "movie moments" making Rhian Ramos and Aljur Abrenica sizzle on screen and putting the "kilig" factor to the highest level.

Among the supporting cast, Chariz Solomon shines the most in the film solidifying her bid to become the Kapuso network's up and rising comedienne.

What sets "My Kontrabida Girl" apart from other rom-coms is that it does not stick to the formula that the rival film outfit have been using.

The Negative: The timing with the dialogues between Rhian and Aljur was off sometimes. Good thing the camera loves them.
