"Katy Perry: Part of Me" is a very entertaining concert documentary that highlights the pop star's ability to come up a spectacular show for her fans despite experiencing the lowest time of her life.
Main Cast: Katy Perry, Lucas Kerr
Director: Dan Cutforth, Jane Lipsitz
Genre: Documentary, Musical, Concert Movie
Released by: UIP-Solar Entertainment Corp.
MTRCB Rating: PG-13
Movie Info: A 3D motion picture event movie, Katy Perry: Part of Me is a backstage pass, front row seat and intimate look at the fun, glamorous, heartbreaking, inspiring, crazy, magical, passionate, and honest mad diary of Katy. --Paramount
The Positive: Beyond the vibrant hair, outfits and props, Katy Perry has a colorful life worthy to be made into a movie. From being a Preacher's kid, to her struggles in making it to stardom and even her attempt to save her marriage while in a long-term tour, Perry opens her heart for her fans to see. In the end, she instilled a valuable life lesson for the youth that they won't get from her music.
Compared with other concert movies that I've watched before, as I'm not fond of this genre, I find "Katy Perry: Part of Me" engaging from beginning to end.
The Negative: If you're not a fan of Perry and her music, you may find this film a little bit self-promoting than inspiring.
